Joomla to Drupal

After using Joomla for only a couple of years I am ready to make the move to Drupal. Everyone seems to agree that Drupal is a more flexible platform to work with.

It's been awhile....

So it has been awhile since my last post. I started this blog during my design class last year as a graded project, but I'd like to continue it until I figure out how to export all my posts to MySQL.

During my Spring semester last year I was contracted to design a website for the Leading Start Kids website which I have since then continued to update. The contact included graphic design for the logo and their banner for the Spring Bash 2010 event.

Steam Punk Goggles

Initial Hand drawn sketch of a photo of Steampunk Goggles I found on Deviant Art in the Artisan section.

And this is the final vector drawing. This is the first really professional vector drawing I've done with Illustrator CS4. Every shape is closed and all the paths are well organized into layers and appropriately named.

I had fun...!

CAT 111 was fun. I'm taking CAT 113 next semester and I am looking forward to it. Maybe I'll see some of my CAT 111 class mates there (not that I actually SAW anyone in person--you know what I mean). I learned a lot of tricks in all the software involved in CAT 111--from the Adobe suite to Google suite. Hope everyone has a bitching Winter Break!

LED Contact Lenses...NEATO!

I read an article  in Popular Science about someone who was working on zoom lense implants for peoples' eyes. I did a search for eye implants and found all kinds of crazy. The LED contacts are a pretty cool tech related to that search....follow the link.

Project 5

I picked a nice little beach in Hawaii to plop my model on. I made some renderings and took some snapshots. If I had more time I would have done more because I love doing stuff like this.

Blender

Another great, free (open source) 3D modelling / rendering software is Blender. I haven't had the chance to play with it, but I've hear it is worth a try.

Project 5 - The Love Palace...

Should have changed the name to Peace Palace...aw well. I got carried away with SketchUp and did some photo shoots. Click the images for a closer look...so tired... I'm going to make some windows, doors, and a pool...maybe some furniture...maybe some landscaping--depends on how bored I am tomorrow.

Career Fair This Saturday

I decided to go to the career fair this saturday for opportunities in the DISA internship and STEP programs. Hopefully I can get a security clearance!

Go Philly's!

Mary J just made me shed a tear singing the National Anthem! Now if she could just take the Yankee's jersey off...:)
